Afghanistan political crisis The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) held its second meeting on Afghanistan in ten days on Monady, as the country witnessed chaotic scenes over the weekend, with the Taliban taking over Kabul. 2. EU foreign ministers to hold emergency talks on Afghan situation European Union foreign ministers will hold emergency talks on Tuesday to discuss the crisis in Afghanistan, after the president fled and the Taliban seized control of the capital, Kabul, over the weekend. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said in a tweet on Monday that he decided to convene the extraordinary video-conference so the ministers can make "a first assessment" of developments. 3. Dalit girl rape: Parents move HC seeking court-monitored probe by SIT Parents of the nine-year-old Dalit girl, who was allegedly raped and murdered here, have moved the Delhi High Court seeking the constitution of a special investigation team (SIT) for a court-monitored probe into the incident. In their plea, which will be heard by Justice Yogesh Khanna on Tuesday, the parents of the deceased child have stated that they have "no faith in the present investigation" which has now been transferred to the crime branch of the Delhi Police. 4. Application process for admissions in DSEU to close on Aug 17 The application process for admissions in Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) will close on Tuesday and the varsity is expected to release the merit list of its degree courses by this month-end, an official statement said on Monday. The university opened its admissions process to 15 full-time Diploma courses such as Fashion Design, Tool and Dye Making, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Aesthetics and Beauty Therapy, Facilities and Hygiene Management, etc. 5. AAP to make important announcement for Uttarakhand on Tuesday: Kejriwal Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said his party will make a very important announcement for Uttarakhand on August 17 that will prove to be a milestone in the state's development. 6. Three Union ministers to reach out to people in MP through 'Janashirwad yatra' Newly-inducted Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia, Virendra Khatik and S P S Baghel will take part in the BJP's 'Janashirwad yatra' in Madhya Pradesh from Tuesday to reach out to people of the state. While Scindia and Baghel will embark on the tour from Dewas and Datia, respectively, from Tuesday, Khatik will begin his tour from Gwalior on August 19, party sources said on Monday. 7. PM Modi to interact with Indian para-athlete contingent for Tokyo Paralympic Games Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the Indian para-athlete contingent for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games on Tuesday via video-conferencing, his office said.
