1. Sonia Gandhi calls parliamentary strategy group meeting 

Ahead of the Monsoon session of Parliament, which starts July 19, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has convened a meeting of the party's Parliamentary strategy group on Wednesday, sources said. Among those who will attend the July 14 meeting are Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

2. New HC bench to hear Mamata's election petition 

A new bench will take up on Wednesday West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's election petition before the Calcutta High Court challenging BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's victory from the Nandigram constituency in the assembly elections. 

3. Kerala Governor to join fast against dowry 

Arif Mohammed Khan will take part in an anti-dowry fast on Wednesday to create awareness about the social evil. 

4. Zomato IPO opens 

Food delivery platform Zomato's Rs 9,375 crore initial public offering - India's biggest this year - will open for subscription on Wednesday till July 16 amid buzz of strong response from global institutional investors. 

5. Kerala SSLC examination results to be announced today 

Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty will announce the results of the 2021 SSLC examinations in Thiruvananthapuram at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. 

6. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to meet counterparts at SCO meet: official 

Foreign Ministers of the eight-member Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) consisting of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan are holding a two-day meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday at Dushanbe. 

7. Women's T20 | India aim for complete performance in series-decider against England 

The Indian women's cricket team would aim to put up a complete performance instead of relying on individual brilliance to topple a hurting England for its first T20 series victory since 2019 on Wednesday.

8. Coronavirus in India | Numbers and developments   

The weekly pace of vaccination has declined to nearly 60% of what was seen in the week after June 21, when the Centre entirely took over vaccine procurement from the States. The slackening has resulted in several States complaining of a shortage and an inability to cater to demand. The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 38,576, taking the tally in the country to 3,09,40,755at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 4,11,403.
