Heavy to very heavy rains expected in several parts of north India by Monday morning: IMD The India Meteorological Department on Sunday said heavy to very heavy rains at isolated places are expected over several parts of north India including Delhi by Monday morning, but there was little relief from the unforgiving heat throughout the day as the Southwest Monsoon has not still reached the remaining parts of the region. 2. Puri set to hold 2nd devotee-less Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath Pulling of the holy chariots will start at 3 pm Monday. The district administration imposed curfew from 8 pm of Sunday for two days, official sources said. The administration imposed curbs across the 3-km long Grand Road from Shree Jagannath Temple to Sri Gunducha Temple where all activities excluding medical emergencies are prohibited. 3. Shops, markets in UP can operate from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday extended the relaxation in the coronavirus curfew imposed in the state by two hours, a senior official said. As per the new guidelines issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi, markets, shops and establishments can now remain open from 6 am to 10 pm from Monday to Friday. Weekly closure will be observed on Saturdays and Sundays, it said. 5. Three arrested for killing teenager in Rajasthan, prohibitory orders clamped to avoid flare up Prohibitory orders were clamped and internet services suspended for 24 hours in the communally-sensitive Baran city of Rajasthan following the brutal murder of a teenage boy, police said on Sunday. 6. Priyanka to hold virtual meet with UP Cong leaders to strategise for polls Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold a meeting with senior Uttar Pradesh Congress leaders on Monday as the party seeks to intensify organisational activities in the run up to the assembly polls next year. 7. Coronavirus in India | Numbers and developments Authorities in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir have made a COVID-19 negative report and vaccine certificate mandatory for visitors to tourist places, including the famous resort of Pahalgam, in the district to prevent the resurgence of coronavirus, officials said. The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 38,154, taking the tally in the country to 3,08,71,178 at the time of publishing this newsletter.
