1. Lockdown comes into effect in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Mizoram from Monday

Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, extended till May 17, their ongoing lockdown as a large part of the country remained under strict curbs due to the raging COVID-19 pandemic. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Rajasthan will also have a two-week shutdown starting Monday, while in Karnataka stringent restrictions will come into effect till May 24. In the Northeast, the Mizoram government has imposed a seven-day lockdown from Monday, while Sikkim has clamped restrictions till May 16.

2. Free distribution of AYUSH-64 at 7 Delhi locations from Monday

Poly herbal formulation 'AYUSH 64' will be available free-of-cost for asymptomatic, mild and moderate COVID-19 patients at seven centres in Delhi starting from Monday. Patients or their representatives can visit these centres with a hard or soft copy of the patient's RT-PCR positive report and Aadhar card to get a free pack of 'AYUSH 64' tablets, the AYUSH Ministry said in a statement.

3. COVID-19 vaccines for those in 18-44 age group in Bengaluru from Monday

Starting Monday, COVID-19 vaccination will be provided for citizens aged between 18 and 44 years at K.C. General Hospital, Jayanagar General Hospital, Sir C.V. Raman General Hospital, Government Medical Colleges, ESI Hospitals and NIMHANS in Bengaluru.

4. Himanta Biswa Sarma to be sworn in as Assam CM on Monday

BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra on Monday. Governor Jagdish Mukhi invited him to be sworn in after Mr. Sarma met him on Sunday. Mr. Sarma, who was elected leader of both the BJP and NDA Legislature Parties, had called on the Governor at Raj Bhawan and submitted a list of elected legislators owing allegiance to the NDA

5. Nepal PM Oli to seek vote of confidence in Parliament on Monday

Nepal's embattled Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli will seek a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives on Monday to prove that he enjoys majority support in the lower house after the CPN (Maoist Centre) led by Pushpakamal Dahal "Prachanda" withdrew support to his government.

6. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments

India recorded 3,66,317 new COVID-19 cases until 11.37 p.m. on May 10. As many as 3,747 new deaths were also registered. The country has so far reported a total of 2,26,62,410 cases and 2,46,146 deaths. Maharashtra reported 48,401 infections, followed by Karnataka (47,930) and Kerala (35,801). Maharashtra also recorded 572 casualties, followed by Karnataka (490) and Uttar Pradesh (296).
