Where has this bookish goodie been all my life? Credit: BritishBookArt; RusticPagesCo Handmade book tracker bookmarks Because I am obsessed with makers on Etsy — and because buying stuff I probably don't need has been my method of self-soothing during the pandemic — I immediately clicked on this post about handmade Etsy must-haves. And wouldn't you know it? Indeed I did find something I had to have: the book tracker bookmark.
The post spotlighted these adorable bookshelf bookmarks that let you fill in the spines as you finish your books, from UK-based artist BritishBookArt. But it turns out there's a whole world of book tracker bookmarks out there.
These beauties from RusticPagesCo let you get a little more detailed — a straightforward list format with spaces for title, date, and rating, printed over lovely minimal designs. This old-fashioned library card style from DeadMeatDesign is so freakin' cute, and customizable. BekiCreates makes bookshelf-style bookmarks with tassels; TeachHealthier sells a minimalist book stack design. And that's not to mention the dozens of printables if you want to make your own. Credit: DeadMeatDesign; BekiCreates; TeachHealthier I love these bookmarks because they're so low pressure; I've always been interested in tracking the books I read but I can't tell you how many book journals I've bought only to be too intimidated by all the prompts to stick with theme. These are so cute, so simple, so scrapbook-able, and — most importantly! — so affordable. That is, unless I buy way too many. Which, let's be real, I probably will. —Arianna Rebolini
