Talks between Punjab farmers, Centre remain inconclusive After more than six hours of discussion at Vigyan Bhavan in the capital, Central ministers refused to allow the renewal of goods train services in Punjab, and farmers vowed to continue their protests by observing Saturday as a Black Diwali, and holding a mass agitation in Delhi later this month. However, both sides said they were open to further talks. 2. Six civilians among 11 killed in Pakistan firing at LoC At least eight Pakistani soldiers were killed and 12 others injured on Friday along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir after the Indian army responded to unprovoked ceasefire violations in multiple locations by troops of the neighbouring country, military sources said. 3. Jaishankar to represent India at East Asia Summit on Saturday The Ministry of External Affairs made the announcement about Mr. Jaishankar’s participation in the 15th summit of the grouping. 4. J&K Congress joins hand with Gupkar alliance Two Congress leaders participated in a meeting of the alliance, at PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘Fairview’ residence at Gupkar, called to discuss the District Development Council (DDC) elections and to finalise the list of candidates to contest in the rest of the eight-phased polls. 5. Young readers’ tramcar library to start rolling on Children’s Day The wheels of a young readers’ tramcar library, perhaps the world’s first of its kind, is set to start rolling on Children’s Day on Saturday in Kolkata, giving free access to all children to read and learn on the move, an official said. 6. Beginning of Samvat 2077 Markets will have a special one-hour Muhurat trading session on Saturday to mark the beginning of Samvat 2077. Stocks market in India remained closed on Diwali for normal trading but they conduct an one-hour special Muhurat trading session on every Diwali. This year also the BSE and the NSE will conduct Muhurat trading session on November 14 that will start at 6.15 a.m. and will last till 7.15 a.m. 7. Golf | Johnson grabs share of Masters lead with first round completed World number one Dustin Johnson was a model of precision as he moved into a three-way share of the lead with Englishman Paul Casey and South African Dylan Frittelli when the delayed first round of the Masters was completed on Friday. 8. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 87,72,528 at the time of publishing this newsletter.
