1) Coronavirus | latest numbers and developments
The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India is 5,09,428 with the death toll at 15,690. The number of cases has grown exponentially in recent weeks and as India crosses the 5 lakh mark in cases, the data shows that 60% of the infections have been reported in the month of June.
2) Noticeable thinning of Chinese troop presence along LAC, says govt official
India on Friday also warned China that trying to alter the status quo on the ground by resorting to force would not just damage the peace that existed in the border areas but could also have "ripples and repercussions" in the broader bilateral relationship
3) Serological survey to begin in Delhi on Saturday
The announcement came a day after Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla reviewed implementation of various decisions on the coronavirus-related situation in Delhi, which were taken on June 21 in a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. 4) Second batch of 250 Indians stranded in Pakistan due to lockdown return home
This is the second batch in as many days after 248 Indians returned home on Thursday. Now, around 250 Indians are stranded in Pakistan and will return to the country on Saturday, Pakistani officials said.
5) Shabir Shah moves court seeking separate cell in Tihar
In an application that is likely to come up for hearing on Saturday, advocate Qausar Khan submitted that Shah is suffering from various ailments that puts him in danger in case he is found COVID-19 positive. 6) Floods displace 2.52 lakh people in 16 districts in Assam
Floods in Assam have claimed one more life, the 16th since May 22, as the rising water level displaced more than 2.52 lakh people across 16 districts on Friday. Incessant heavy rain for almost a week also hit operations to cap the blowout well of Oil India Limited (OIL) in eastern Assam's Tinsukia district.

7) U.N.-75 declaration delayed
In a battle of and for words, a commemorative declaration marking the 75th anniversary of the signing of the U.N. Charter was delayed as member states could not reach an agreement on phraseology. The Five Eyes — the U.S., the U.K., Australia, New Zealand and Canada — along with India, objected to the use of a phrase "shared vision of a common future", associated with China.
8) ASEAN states warn of South China Sea tensions
Vietnam and the Philippines warned of growing insecurity in Southeast Asia at a regional summit on Friday amid concerns that China was stepping up its activity in the disputed South China Sea during the coronavirus pandemic.
