One line in the song says "teach your children well." Quite simply, it's telling parents to teach their children how to deal with life and use the lessons they've learned from their own experiences. Those lessons should include conversations about money. It makes sense that the earlier children learn about money, savings and investment, the better money managers they will become as adults. Parents need to help create a healthy relationship between kids and money. We need to find positive ways to help our children understand the value of money at an early age, which will guide them to make smart financial decisions throughout their lives. Talking about money isn't always easy, of course. The concept of sharing financial information with our kids has long been regarded as taboo. For families who are struggling, money management can often be a stressful topic, making parents want to protect their children from the realities of financial distress. However, research shows that honest money conversations from childhood help people grow into adults that have a healthy relationship with their finances. When parents "teach their children well" about money, they are truly building a foundation for financial independence in young adulthood, and overall success for the future.
