1. Minister's son fails to show up before police, summoned again  

Facing reporters at Lucknow airport, Union Minister Ajay Mishra said his son Ashish Mishra could not appear before police as he was not well but will record his statement on Saturday. Police in Lakhimpur Kheri pasted a new notice outside the Mishras' residence summoning Mr. Ashish Mishra to appear at the Crime Branch office in Police Lines at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Legal action would be taken if he did not turn up, said the notice. 

 

2. Amit Shah, J&K LG likely to review Kashmir situation, targeted civilian killings  

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to hold discussions with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha on Saturday on the security situation in the union territory in the wake of recent targeted killings including those of Hindus and Sikhs. 

 

3. Priyanka announces that all Congress district committees will clean Valmiki temples 

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday paid a surprise visit to a Dalit locality in Lucknow and picked up a broom, reacting to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's dig at her for sweeping the floor at the Sitapur guest house where she was detained. Taking on the chief minister for his "casteist comment", Priyanka later in a tweet announced that all district committees of the party will clean Valmiki temples on Saturday. 

 

4. Nawab Malik to reveal the name of the BJP leader whose brother-in-law was let off by the NCB 

Stepping up its attack on the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the NCP on Friday alleged that the anti-drug agency let off two persons after a raid on a cruise ship off Mumbai coast recently, with one of them being the brother-in-law of a "high-profile" BJP leader. Targeting NCB's zonal director Sameer Wankhede, NCP spokesperson and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik also raised questions over the conduct of the agency officials. Malik said he would address a press conference on Saturday to reveal the name of the BJP leader whose brother-in-law was let off by the NCB. 

 

5. Chipi greenfield airport to be inaugurated 

Union minister and BJP leader Narayan Rane on Friday claimed that the Shiv Sena did not have any contribution in the development of Sindhudurg district in Maharashtra and that he was the driving force behind the construction of the Chipi greenfield airport in the coastal district. The airport is scheduled to be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Saturday. 

 

6. BJP chief Nadda on two-day tour of Manipur 

BJP president J P Nadda will be on a two-day visit to poll-bound Manipur from Saturday and will attend various programmes, the party said in a statement. BJP chief spokesperson Anil Baluni said Nadda will visit a booth president's residence at Utlou in Nambol and address a public meeting there on Saturday. 

 

7. Curfew in Kawardha relaxed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m 

BJP MP Santosh Pandey and former parliamentarian Abhishek Singh were among some party leaders who have been charged with rioting and other offences in an FIR filed in connection with violence in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha town three days ago, officials said on Friday. The local authorities had imposed a curfew in Kawardha to bring the situation under control. According to officials, the curfew will be relaxed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Saturday. 

 

8. Delhi University second list to be released


Almost 50% of Delhi University seats have been filled after admissions under the first cut-off list with college principals saying the second list, to be released on Saturday, will only see a decline of 0.5% to 1% for courses. 

 

9. India looks up to star players for good show at Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 

India will look up to their star players, including Saina Nehwal and men's doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, to quickly recover from the Sudirman Cup drubbing and produce a better show at the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals beginning in Aarhus, Denmark on Saturday. 

 

10. Indian women look to play aggressive cricket to finish Australian tour on a high 

Bolstered by Jemimah Rodrigues' return to form, India will look to come out all guns blazing in the second women's T20 International against Australia on Saturday after rain played spoilsport in the opening game in Colad Coast.
