1. GST council meets in Lucknow today 

Kerala on Thursday said it will vehemently oppose any move to bring petrol and diesel under the GST regime as that will further reduce revenue generation for the state and asserted that the Centre should reduce its levies on the two commodities to provide relief to the common people. 

2. BJP eying major push to Covid vaccination on Modi's birthday 

The BJP is set to launch a mega 20-day public outreach from Friday on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday and it will continue till October 7 to also commemorate his 20 years in public life, including as Gujarat CM. 

3. Amit Shah to visit Maharashtra, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will undertake a two-day visit to Telangana, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh from Friday during which he will participate in a number of programmes and address rallies.

 

4. Day after adjourning Rajasthan Assembly sine die, Speaker decides to recall session 

Assembly Secretary Pramil Kumar Mathur issued a notification to recall the session on Friday on the directions of the Speaker, an official statement said, adding that the much-needed financial and legislative work will be taken up. 

5. Davis Cup: Indian players need to give their all against Finland 

India's singles players will need to back their talent with some killer instinct for the team to emerge victorious against a reasonably strong Finland in the Davis Cup World Group I tie, starting in Espoo (Finland) on Friday.

 

6. PM Modi to virtually lead Indian delegation at SCO summit today 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Indian delegation virtually at the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to be held in Tajik capital city of Dushanbe on September 17, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Wednesday.
