1. Bhupendra Patel to take oath as Gujarat Chief Minister today

 

First-term MLA Bhupendra Patel, 59, was unanimously elected as BJP legislative party leader on Sunday, a day after Vijay Rupani resigned from the post. Mr.Patel will be sworn in in the presence of top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will attend the event virtually.

2. Pegasus snooping row | Supreme Court to hear pleas seeking independent probe 

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday a batch of pleas seeking an independent probe into the alleged snooping on certain people in the country involving Israeli spyware Pegasus. The Centre had earlier filed a limited affidavit in the Supreme Court saying the pleas seeking an independent probe into the Pegasus snooping allegations are based on "conjectures and surmises or on other unsubstantiated media reports or incomplete or uncorroborated material".

3. Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar to arrive for Karnataka Assembly session in bullock carts

Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah and State Congress president D.K. Shivakumar will arrive at the Vidhana Soudha in bullock carts on Monday, to attend the monsoon session of the State legislature, in protest against the fuel price rise. 

4. Norway goes to polls with climate on the agenda 

North Sea oil and gas has helped make Norway one of the wealthiest countries in the world. But as Norwegians head to the polls on Monday, fears about climate change have put the future of the industry at the top of the campaign agenda. 

5. China's FM Wang visiting Cambodia to discuss virus, trade

 

Cambodia's Foreign Ministry said Wang's meetings on Sunday and Monday would include discussions of trade and security as well. 

6. Wipro leaders to return to office from today, says Rishad Premji 

Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji on Sunday said its leaders will start returning to office from Monday after 18 months of work from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

7. Hockey India names 25 players for senior women's national camp 

Hockey India on Sunday named 25 players, including the members of national team that secured a historic fourth place at the Tokyo Olympics, for the senior women's national coaching Camp scheduled to begin in Bengaluru from Monday. 

8. Shastri expected to complete his 10-day isolation period today

 

India head coach Ravi Shastri and his support staff colleagues Bharat Arun and R. Sridhar are likely to leave for India on Wednesday provided they have two negative RT-PCR reports prior to their departure date.
