External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in Tehran on Thursday.

7. Go First to start flights connecting Doha with three Indian cities from today

Go First, previously known as GoAir, on Wednesday announced that it will start flights connecting Doha in Qatar with Mumbai, Kochi and Kannur in India from Thursday onwards.

8. India beats Germany 5-4 to win Olympic men's hockey medal after 41 years

 

 

The Indian men's hockey team rewrote history as it claimed an Olympic medal after 41 years, beating a plucky Germany 5-4 to claim the bronze in an edge-of-the-seat play-off match of the ongoing Games here on Thursday, August 5, 2021.

9. Tokyo Olympics | India's Vinesh Phogat loses in quarters

Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat suffered a massive upset defeat at the Olympic Games after being pinned by Belarus' Vanesa Kaladzinskaya in the 53kg quarterfinals to not only go out of the gold medal race but also face the risk of getting eliminated, here on Thursday, August 5, 2021.

Athletics:

K T Irfan, Rahul Rohilla and Sandeep Kumar in men's 20km race walk event: 1:00pm IST.

Golf:

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar in women's individual stroke play round 2: 4:00am IST.

Wrestling:

Anshu Malik vs Valeria Koblova (ROC) in repechage round of women's freestyle 57kg; second bout after 7:30am IST start.

Ravi Dahiya vs Zavur Uguev (Russian Olympic Committee) in men's freestyle 57kg final; ninth bout after 2:45pm IST start.
