1. Maharashtra: IMD predicts heavy rain, thunderstorm in Nagpur

 

The IMD's Regional Meteorological Centre here in Maharashtra has issued an 'orange' alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightning in parts of Nagpur district on Thursday. It has also issued a 'yellow' alert for heavy downpour coupled with lightning on Friday.

2. Meeting of RSS pracharaks in MP from today

A four-day meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh pracharaks will begin in Madhya Pradesh's Chitrakoot city from Friday, an RSS functionary said. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat would chair the meeting, he said.

3. Gujarat suspends vaccination drive

The Gujarat government has suspended vaccination drive for two days on Thursday and Friday apparently amidst shortage of doses. The government, however, has not spelled out why the health department has halted the vaccination in the state.

 

4. Nadda, Rahul to pay tributes to Virbhadra in Shimla on Friday

BJP president J P Nadda and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Shimla on Friday to pay their last respects to former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh who died on Thursday. Gandhi will pay his last respects to the departed leader at the state Congress office -- Rajiv Bhawan -- the party's working committee member Rajeev Shukla said.

5. Mumbai: COVID-19 vaccination at civic, govt centres suspended on July 9

The COVID-19 vaccination drive at civic and government-run vaccination centres in Mumbai will remain suspended on Friday due to shortage of vaccines, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said on Thursday. As per a statement issued by the civic body, the vaccination drive will resume once it receives a fresh stock of vaccines.

6. EngW vs IndW T20s | Pressure on Harmanpreet to engineer batting turnaround in T20s

 

India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur would be aiming to overcome her prolonged form slump and provide a much-needed boost to the struggling batting line-up in the opening T20 International against formidable hosts England on Friday. England lead the multi-format series 6-4 after a drawn Test and a 2-1 score-line in ODIs. Barring Mithali Raj's remarkable consistency in ODIs, the Indian batting was a disappointment, and it is something that the team would want to correct in the three T20s.
