1. Farmers' protest in Delhi from today

 

The protest against the three agricultural reform laws has come full circle, with farm unions arriving at Parliament on July 22, to demand the repeal of the laws passed 10 months ago.

2. IMD forecasts heavy rainfall over western, central India, issues 'red' alert for Mumbai

The western and central parts of the country will continue to witness heavy rains over the next three-four days, the IMD said on Wednesday while issuing a "red" alert for Mumbai, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the country's financial capital.

3. SC to hear pleas of Delhi Police against HC verdicts granting bail to three student activists

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Thursday the petitions filed by Delhi Police challenging the Delhi High Court verdicts granting bail to three student activists in a north-east Delhi riots case.

4. Bombay High Court verdict on Anil Deshmukh's plea today

 

Mr. Deshmukh's petition seeks to quash the CBI's FIR against him that alleges corruption in a letter written by former police commissioner Param Bir Singh to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

5. Kerala Assembly session to begin today

A host of controversies ranging from the mass felling of rosewood trees, increasing COVID cases and gold smuggling case to a minister facing charges of trying to settle a sexual harassment case are likely to be raked up by the opposition in the second session of the 15th Kerala Assembly on Thursday.

6. India to take part in environment ministers' meet at G20 Summit today

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav will virtually take part in the two-day meeting, along with Minister of State for Environment Ashwini Choubey and senior officials, the environment ministry said in a tweet on Wednesday.

7. Indian athletes' participation in Olympic opening ceremony to be bare minimum: IOA

 

Chef-de-mission B P Baishya said a call on the number of Indian athletes who will participate in the Tokyo Olympics will be taken on Thursday.
