1. Rajnath Singh to visit CSL today to review progress of indigenous aircraft carrier

 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit the Cochin Shipyard Limited on Friday to review the progress of the construction of the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier(IAC) there, a defence release said.

2. Jaishankar to begin visit to Greece and Italy today

In Italy, Jaishankar will attend a meeting of Foreign Ministers of G20 countries as well as another one of Development Ministers of the bloc, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday.

3. Education Minister to answer student queries through social media

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhiryal 'Nishank' will interact with students through social media on Friday and answer queries related to class 10 and 12 board exams, which were cancelled in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

4. Dutee, Hima among top athletes to participate in Inter-State Championships for one last try at Olympic berths

 

A host of top Indian track and field athletes, including the likes of star sprinters Dutee Chand and Hima Das, will make one last attempt to book their Olympic berths in the National Inter-State Championships beginning in Patiala on Friday.

5. Coronavirus in India | Numbers and developments

Between June 1 and 23, 37.2 lakh doses were administered daily in India on average. At the current rate, a total of 100.3 crore doses can be administered by December 31, 2021, which is around 87.7 crore doses less than those required to fully vaccinate all adults (188 crore doses). To fully inoculate all adults by the end of this year, 82.2 lakh doses need to be given daily on average in the country.

The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 51,040, taking the tally in the country to 3,01,33,198 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 3,93,334.
