1. PM Modi to inaugurate Fast Petrol Vessel for Seychelles during a bilateral event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over a Fast Petrol Vessel to the Seychelles Coast Guard on Thursday. The handing over will be part of a high-level virtual interaction between the Indian leader and the President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan. This is the first interaction between the two leaders since Mr Ramkalawan won the October 2020 elections in Seychelles.

2. SC to hear pleas of Maharashtra govt, Anil Deshmukh against HC order

The Supreme Court will on Thursday hear the pleas filed by Maharashtra government and its former home minister Anil Deshmukh who has challenged the Bombay High Court order directing a CBI probe into the allegations of corruption and misconduct levelled against him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.

3. PM to chair meet for the commemoration of Guru Tegh Bahadur's 400th birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a meeting of the high-level committee to commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur on Thursday through video conference. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also attend the meeting, and it will discuss the year-long calendar of events planned to mark this special occasion

4. HC to hear plea on action against leaders for not wearing masks during polls

The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear on Thursday a plea seeking directions to the Election Commission to take action against leaders, campaigners and candidates not following the mandatory use of face mask in the ongoing Assembly elections in various States and Union Territories.

5. SC to pronounce order on a plea seeking the release of Rohingyas detained in Jammu

The Supreme Court will pronounce the order on Thursday on a plea seeking immediate release of detained Rohingya refugees in Jammu and direction to restrain the Centre from deporting them to Myanmar.

6. Amid standoff over DBT payment to farmers, Goyal to meet Punjab food minister

Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal will meet his Punjab counterpart Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Thursday in a bid to resolve the ongoing deadlock between the Centre and Punjab over direct online MSP payments to farmers.

7. Indian women's football team gets ready for Belarus challenge

Seeking to perform as one cohesive unit, the Indian women's football is set to lock horns with Belarus in an international friendly in Tashkent on Thursday.

8. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments

The number of positive coronavirus cases India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 1,30,894, taking the tally in the country to 1,29,25,730, at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 1,68,267.
