1. Parliament sessions to revert to pre-COVID-19 timings Both Houses of Parliament are switching back to the pre-COVID-19 timings and seating arrangements. For the first time in a year, Members of both Houses will sit in their respective chambers, instead of being spread across two chambers. Till now Rajya Sabha was commencing at 9 a.m. and Lok Sabha at 4 p.m. From today, both Houses will commence at 11 a.m. and will proceed till 6 p.m. 2. Puducherry Congress-DMK seat sharing to be finalised Former Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy on Monday said the number of Assembly seats to be contested by Congress and DMK in Puducherry will be finalised by Tuesday. Briefing reporters after holding the second round of talks with local leaders of the Dravidian party, he said DMK president M.K. Stalin and AICC general secretary Dinesh Gundu Rao will hold further deliberations on the seat sharing arrangements at Chennai. 3. Party MLAs to meet Uttarakhand CM at his residence Amid growing speculation about a leadership change in Uttarakhand, the State BJP on Monday said there has been no formal announcement about a meeting of the legislature party on Tuesday. Uttarakhand MLA Munna Singh Chauhan, who accompanied T.S. Rawat to Delhi on Monday, denied any moves to replace the Chief Minister, adding that MLAs would meet him on Tuesday. 4. MPs from poll-bound States seek curtailed Budget session Lok Sabha members from the poll-bound West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry have requested an early curtailment of the second part of the Budget session that began on Monday. A final decision on curtailment of the session would be taken by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, who met floor leaders of various parties on the matter yesterday. 5. Nine dead in fire at Eastern Railway headquarters in Kolkata The death toll in a fire that broke out at Eastern Railway headquarters in Kolkata on Monday evening rose to nine on Tuesday morning. The blaze broke out on the 13th floor of the 14-storey building located on Strand Road. 6. Mamata Banerjee to release TMC manifesto After the release of the party manifesto on Tuesday, the Trinamool Congress supremo would leave for Nandigram in the evening and file her nomination papers the next day, party sources said. 7. Ind vs. SA | Blown away in opener, rusty Indian women aim to bounce back A rusty Indian women's cricket team will be seeking some rhythm in the second ODI against South Africa on Tuesday after being outplayed by the visitors in the series-opener. 8. ATKMB, NEUFC need outright win in 2nd leg to secure ISL final berth Having drawn their first-leg tie, both ATK Mohun Bagan and NorthEast United FC would look for an outright win in the second leg semifinal clash in pursuit of a final spot in the Hero Indian Super League on Tuesday. 9. Vijay Hazare quarterfinals In the quarterfinals on Tuesday, Delhi will meet Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai will play against Saurashtra. 10. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 1,12,42,313 at the time of publishing this newsletter.
