Farm unions will campaign against BJP in poll bound States Ratcheting up the pressure on the BJP, protesting farm unions have decided to campaign against the party in the upcoming Assembly elections. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha general body on Tuesday decided to send teams to the four election-bound States and one Union Territory.
2. Priyanka Gandhi launches 5-guarantee campaign in Assam Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra on Tuesday launched the party’s five-guarantee campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam.
3. Sri Lanka now clears Indian investment at another Colombo Port terminal Sri Lanka on Tuesday said it will develop the West Container Terminal (WCT) at the Colombo Port along with India and Japan, in a near-360 degree policy turn from a month ago, when the two partners were ejected from a 2019 tripartite agreement to jointly develop the East Container Terminal (ECT), amid port unions' resistance to “foreign involvement”.
4. Bhutan conspiracy case: Trial to get underway in Thimphu this week As a Thimphu court prepares for the opening of a trial against three prominent officials accused of plotting to topple and take over top jobs in the Supreme Court and the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), the spotlight is on a woman who was a former protocol secretary at the Indian Embassy, Khandu Wangmo who allegedly played a key part in the intrigues.
5. Odisha govt. changes school timings According to an official notification, issued by the School and Mass Education (S&ME) department, the school timings for the students of Class 9 and 11 will be from 7 am to 9 am and for Class 10 and 12 from 8 am to 12 pm.
6. Pakistan has given ‘pension’ to dreaded and listed terrorists: India India on Tuesday reiterated Kashmir is an “inalienable” part of its territory and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation has no “locus standi” to raise matters related to the region on international platforms.
7. All private hospitals permitted to give COVID vaccine, Centre to states The Centre on Tuesday permitted all private hospitals to give COVID vaccine if they adhere to the laid down norms and also asked the states and union territories to utilise the optimum capacity of private medical facilities empanelled under three categories.
8. Congress forms screening panels for TN, WB, Kerala and Puducherry polls The Congress constituted screening committees for the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and West Bengal polls on Tuesday, appointing senior leader Digvijaya Singh as the panel head for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
9. Pak, China launch year-long activities to celebrate 70 years of bilateral ties Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi formally commenced the activities through a virtual ceremony simultaneously held in Islamabad and Beijing.
10. Expanded COVID vaccination drive gains momentum Several prominent leaders like Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and former J-K chief minister Farooq Abdullah were among those who received their first anti-COVID jab on Tuesday, day two of the expanded vaccination drive which was gaining momentum with 50 lakh people registering themselves on the Co-WIN portal.

Mary Kom, Amit Panghal among 13 in quarters of Spanish boxing tourney Six-time world champion M C Mary Kom and Asian Games gold-medallist Amit Panghal were among 13 Indian boxers who made the quarterfinals of Boxam International Tournament in Castellon, Spain on Tuesday, leaving them just win away from securing medals at the event.
