Modi to dedicate Kochi-Mangaluru LNG pipeline to the nation Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the 450-km long Kochi-Koottanad-Mangaluru natural gas pipeline built and operated by GAIL India Ltd., to the nation on Tuesday. 2. Central Vista | SC to pronounce judgment Supreme Court is scheduled on Tuesday to pronounce its judgment on various petitions challenging the redevelopment project of Central Vista area in the National Capital. A Bench led by Justice A.M. Khanwilkar, while reserving the case for judgment in early November 2020, had said the court would examine whether the project complied with land use and environmental regulations peculiar to the area which houses the Parliament and Central Secretariat buildings. 3. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar in Colombo from January 5 to 7 In the first high-level visit by a foreign official to Sri Lanka this year, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will be in Colombo from January 5 to 7, and hold bilateral talks with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and his counterpart Dinesh Gunawardena, official statements from both capitals said. 4. RSS meeting in Gujarat A three-day all-India meet of various organisations affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) will be held in Gandhinagar in Gujarat between January 5-7. Besides top functionaries of RSS and its sister outfits, BJP president J P Nadda and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be present at the meeting, during which the functionaries will deliberate on a range of national issues. 5. Sourav Ganguly stable, likely to be discharged on Jan 6: hospital BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly, who has suffered a "mild" heart attack, is stable and likely to be discharged on Wednesday, hospital authorities said. 6. OPEC+ meeting adjourned to Tuesday with no agreement The videoconference meeting of ministers from the OPEC group of oil producers along with their allies has been adjourned until Tuesday, a source with knowledge of the talks said Monday. 7. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 1,03,56,515 at the time of publishing this newsletter.
