1. TN CM to hit campaign trail on Saturday
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK co-coordinator K Palaniswami will launch his party's campaign for the 2021 assembly election on Saturday from his Edappadi constituency in this district. "I am going to start the campaign from Edappadi constituency tomorrow following a request from party workers," Palaniswami told reporters on Friday.
2. J-K: Final phase of DDC polls on Saturday; voting to be held in 28 constituencies Voters undergo thermal screening as they wait to cast their votes during the District Development Council (DDC) elections, near Jammu.
The staggered voting for the maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir will conclude on Saturday as 28 constituencies are set to go for polling in the eighth and final phase. Voting will also be held for 369 vacant panch and sarpanch seats on Saturday across Jammu and Kashmir, state election commissioner K K Sharma told reporters here on Friday.
3. Criminal defamation complaint | Court to hear plea of Vijender Gupta
Sessions Court to hear a plea challenging magistrate court order which had issued summons to Delhi BJP Leader Vijender Gupta and MLA Kapil Mishra in a criminal defamation complaint filed by Delhi's Environment Minister Imran Hussain for allegedly leveling false allegations against him in tree felling permission matter.
4. Gadkari to inaugurate various projects
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to inaugurate and lay foundation stone for 33 highway projects worth nearly ₹11,000 crore in Karnataka at 11:00 a.m.
5. PM Modi to address ASSOCHAM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the keynote address at ASSOCHAM Foundation Week 2020 via video conferencing. He will also present the ‘ASSOCHAM Enterprise of the Century Award’ to Shri Ratan Tata at 10:30 a.m.
6. Sonia to address senior leaders
Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi called a meeting of senior leaders, including some of the 23 leaders who had written a letter to her seeking an overhaul of the organisational structure, at her residence at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
7. President Ram Nath Kovind on two-day visit to Goa from Saturday
President Ram Nath Kovind will be on a two-day visit to Goa beginning Saturday to attend the state's 60th Liberation Day celebrations. Goa was liberated from the Portuguese rule on December 19, 1961. 8. Asian Champions League: finally a final, Ulsan vs Persepolis
The longest Asian Champions League tournament in history ends on Saturday -- more than 11 months after the first ball was kicked -- when Ulsan Horang-i of South Korea meets Iran's Persepolis in Doha, Qatar in the final. The outbreak of coronavirus caused the tournament to be suspended from March to September. Qatar, host of the 2022 World Cup, stepped in to stage all the remaining games in a biosecure setting.
9. Re-opening of schools in Karnataka to be decided tomorrow
A decision on re-opening of schools in Karnataka would be taken at a high-level meeting on Saturday, officials said on Friday. The meet would be attended by Chief Minister of the state B S Yediyurappa and Primary and Secondary School Education Minister S Suresh Kumar, the officials said.
10. 11. Indian Super League | CFC up against FC Goa next, eye return to winning ways
Two-time champion Chennaiyin FC would look to register only their second win of the season when they take on FC Goa in an Indian Super League match at the Fatorda Stadium, here on Saturday. CFC has drawn two and lost two since registering a 2-1 victory over Jamshedpur FC on the opening night. Chennaiyin are currently in eighth place with five points after five outings, while FC Goa occupy the sixth spot with six points from as many games.

The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 1,00,04,694 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 1,45,193.
