Farmer protests to intensify, Delhi expects traffic snarls More farmers were streaming towards the national capital on Friday in response to the call from protesting unions to intensify the on-going agitation against the three agricultural marketing reform laws by blocking the Delhi-Jaipur highway, and picketing toll plazas on Saturday. Police personnel have been deployed to deal with the situation and provide alternate routes for commuters. 2. USFDA authorises Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said it authorized the use of Pfizer Inc's COVID-19 vaccine marking a turning point in the United States where the pandemic has killed more than 292,000 people. 3. Climate Ambition Summit Narendra Modi likely among 78 leaders to attend the summit to mark the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Paris Accord 4. Anti-CAA protests begin in Assam Fresh agitation against the Citizenship Amendment Act was launched by 18 organisations in Assam on Friday demanding repeal of the legislation and release of jailed KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi who was taken into custody during the protests last year.  5. Guruvayur temple to be closed for devotees for two weeks Devotees will not be allowed inside the famed Lord Krishna temple here for two weeks from Saturday with the area around it being declared a COVID-19 containment zone by the Thrissur district administration. 6. ISL: Buoyed Goa face struggling Odisha High on confidence after registering their maiden win of the season, FC Goa will look to continue the good form when they take on laggards Odisha FC in an Indian Super League match in Bambolim on Saturday. 7. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 98,26,263 at the time of publishing this newsletter.
