Denmark is extending local lockdowns to the entire country, while Italy's prime minister is mulling further curbs to slow cases during the season. Europe's largest truck owner warned it could turn away deliveries to the U.K. if Brexit triggers chaos at the border, a move that may threaten the supply of fresh produce to Great Britain. With the possibility of 30 mile-long lines of idling trucks, shipments to the U.K. may be cut.

President-elect Joe Biden has chosen Pete Buttigieg, the former presidential candidate and mayor of South Bend, Indiana, to be his transportation secretary. Last night, Biden used the moment of the Electoral College formalizing his defeat of President Donald Trump to call for unity while Republicans continue efforts to keep Trump in power.

The suspected hackers tied to the Russian government who were behind a massive cyber-attack on the U.S. also hit an American think tank. At the epicenter of the global computer assault was a two-decade-old, Austin, Texas-based software maker.

Canadian women's clothing designer Peter Nygard was arrested in Winnipeg on U.S. charges claiming he trafficked dozens of women and underage girls for sex over 25 years. The 79-year-old retail magnate faces racketeering, sex-trafficking and related charges.

Bridgetown Holdings, the blank-check company backed by billionaires Richard Li and Peter Thiel, is considering a potential merger with Indonesia's e-commerce giant PT Tokopedia.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac plunged Tuesday after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said he's all but ruled out letting them exit U.S. control before he steps down. His decision prevents a major policy change in the last days of the Trump administration that risked disrupting the $10 trillion mortgage market.

The technical glitches plaguing CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077 game have cut more than $1 billion off the wealth of the company's founders. Perhaps more seriously, the quality-first image of the studio has been shaken, and may not be easy to win back.
