1. Cyclone Nivar makes landfall
Cyclone Nivar began the landfall process by around 11:30 p.m. on Novermber 25 and crossed the coast of Puducherry before 2:30 a.m. on November 26. After weakening from a 'very severe' to 'severe' cyclonic storm, it is set to turn into a cyclonic storm, IMD said. Over 1 lakh evacuated; T.N. and Puducherry declare holiday on Thursday; Railways cancels over dozen special trains, offers full refund.

Thousands of farmers from Ambala began a march towards Delhi on Wednesday afternoon in response to a call by several farmers’ groups for 'Dilli Chalo' on November 26. Haryana Police has set up barriers and diversions in the bordering districts on the highways leading to Delhi to prevent the agitating farmers from reaching the national capital.
3. 10 bank unions, except BMS, to observe nationwide strike on Thursday
Banking operations across the country may be impacted on Thursday as some bank unions would be joining the one-day nationwide strike called by central trade unions.

A ceremony will be held at the newly-built memorial at the police headquarters in South Mumbai. It will be attended by the family members of the martyred police and security personnel, the official said on Wednesday.
5. Foreign Secretary to arrive in Nepal on maiden visit on Thursday
Harsh Vardhan Shringla is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Nepal Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal, amid a strain in bilateral ties following a bitter border row between the two countries.
6. Gadkari to inaugurate, lay foundation stone of U.P. highway projects on Thursday
