"Work has been the engine of history." These are the words of anthropologist and author of "WORK: A Deep History, from the Stone Age to the Age of Robots" James Suzman. "We are born to be uniquely purposeful," he says, and our work drives that. Now, in the pandemic, many find themselves not only questioning their purpose, but also what work means going forward.
The future of work has never been more challenging or filled with more possibility. How we work is changing with the rise of technologies and automations that were not even in existence just a few short years ago. Where we work has certainly changed the mass adoption of remote work as people are rethinking offices and urban centers. And many companies are forced to reckon with who they are and what they want their culture to be in light of civil unrest and the call for racial equity.
We're really excited to tackle these ideas on Tuesday at our @Work Summit. This year's summit will be different than we envisioned, but that's exactly the point. The future of work is happening now and we're looking at it in real time.
