Delhi’s air quality may deteriorate to ‘severe’ on Saturday: EPCA As Delhi’s air quality worsened on Friday with several areas in the national capital recording ‘severe’ levels of pollution, Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority, the Supreme Court-appointed pollution monitoring authority, in its statement, said it was watching the situation closely. 2. Peoples’ Alliance for Gupkar Declaration to meet on Saturday Mehbooba Mufti said the meeting will discuss the issue of contesting in District Development Council elections. 3. Row over Thirumavalavan remarks on women  The Chennai Police have booked Thirumavalavan on a complaint by a BJP functionary. The allegation against the Lok Sabha MP and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) founder is that he made derogatory remarks against women while seeking a ban on the Hindu religious text, Manusmriti. 4. PM Modi to virtually inaugurate three key projects in Gujarat The Prime Minister will launch the ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojana’ for the State’s farmers, inaugurate the Paediatric Heart Hospital attached with UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre and a mobile application for tele-cardiology at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, the Prime Minister’s Office said. He will also inaugurate a ropeway at Girnar. 5. Delhi University's third cut off list More than 82% seats in Delhi University have been filled after conclusion of admissions under the second cut off list. The university is expected to announce third cut off list on Saturday. 6. Trump says he will vote in person  President Donald Trump is taking his own advice and plans to vote in person in the presidential election on Saturday in Florida. 7. Asian online team chess: India men and women enter semifinals The Indian women will face Mongolia and the men will take on Iran in Saturday’s semifinals. 8. IPL 2020 | Delhi Capitals vs. Kolkata Knight Riders Table-toppers Delhi Capitals would expect more from their batsmen after an underwhelming performance in the loss to Kings XI Punjab when they take on a low-on-confidence Kolkata Knight Riders in an IPL game in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. 9. IPL 2020 | Kings XI Punjab vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad Their campaign back on track with a hat-trick of wins, Kings XI Punjab will take on another resurgent team – Sunrisers Hyderabad – on Saturday in a must-win IPL game for the two well-matched sides. 10. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 78,13,618 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 1,18,024.
