First on a new round of $1200 stimulus checks and then on an extension of the PPP small business loan program. Yet both parties remain far apart on how to extend enhanced unemployment benefits, among other issues.   So, when can we expect a deal? It looks like talks could persist into next week. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has suggested he is open to a bigger package than the $1 trillion legislation proposed by GOP senators. But the White House has signaled that President Trump may attempt some sort of executive action, although it's unclear what he could do. Republicans call the $600 unemployment boost a disincentive to work. Many experts disagree Republicans want to end or reduce an extra $600 a week that unemployed Americans have been receiving, calling the aid a disincentive to return to work.
