2. Several feared trapped in Mahad building collapse A five-storey residential building in Mumbai's neighbouring Raigad district's Mahad collapsed on August 24 evening. It has been stated that rescue work has begun.
3. NIA expected to file chargesheet in Pulwama attack The National Investigation Agency is expected to file a charge sheet against 11 accused in an NIA court in Jammu on Tuesday (August 25), in the Pulwama attack case that occurred on February 14, 2019, in which 40 CRPF jawans had been martyred.
4. Delhi panel to initiate proceedings on FB's 'inaction on hateful content' on Tuesday A Delhi Assembly committee on peace and harmony will initiate on Tuesday proceedings in connection with complaints about Facebook's alleged "deliberate and intentional inaction to contain hateful content" in India, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
5. Prashant Bhushan contempt case: SC lists case for hearing A three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court led by Justice Arun Mishra will on August 25 examine the "effect" of a statement filed by advocate Prashant Bhushan that an insincere apology for his tweets, which are an expression of his bona fide beliefs, will amount to "contempt of my conscience and of an institution that I hold in highest esteem".
6. Madras HC to pronounce judgement on breach of privilege proceedings Chief Justice AP Sahi and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy of Madras HC to pronounce judgement tomorrow on a plea by DMK President MK Stalin and 18 other MLAs against breach of privilege proceedings initiated in 2017.
7. Chhattisgarh Assembly session from Tuesday amid COVID-19 protocols The Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly monsoon session will commence here from Tuesday with new seating arrangements in the house and all precautions in place to curb the spread of COVID-19. The seating arrangements for members of the assembly have been altered to comply with COVID-19 safety protocols.

Tropical storm Laura likely to become hurricane by Tuesday Tropical storm Laura is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane by early Tuesday, the U.S National Hurricane Center (NHC) said in its latest advisory. The system is located about 255 miles (415 km) east south-east the Isle of Youth, Cuba, with maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour (100 km/h), NHC said on Monday.
9. Electricity cut in Syria after explosion hits gas pipeline An explosion early Monday struck a gas pipeline in a Damascus suburb, causing a huge fire and cutting off electricity throughout Syria, state media reported, citing the country's electricity and oil ministers. The oil minister, Ali Ghanem, said the explosion struck the line that feeds three power stations in southern Syria, calling the incident a cowardly terrorist act.
10. England vs Pakistan third Test final day England bowler James Anderson moved one shy of 600 test wickets as he struck late on a frustrating and mainly forgettable fourth day of the third test against Pakistan on Monday. Pakistan, who followed on after being bowled out for 273 in reply to England's first innings 583-8 declared, ended the day on 100-2, still requiring 210 runs to make England bat again.
