1) Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments
The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 18,55,264 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The toll from the disease stands at 38,965.
2) Revocation of J&K special status: 'Fearing violent protests', Curfew announced Srinagar for August 4,5
The Srinagar administration on Monday evening declared a curfew in the J&K's summer capital for August 4 and August 5, the first anniversary of revocation of J&K's special status, as it "feared protests and violence". "A series of inputs have been received suggesting that separatist and Pakistan sponsored groups are planning to observe August 5 as a 'Black Day', therein apprehensions of protests are not ruled out.
3) Ahead of Ram temple bhoomi pujan, all road lead to Ayodhya

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has appealed to people to light lamps at their homes on Tuesday and Wednesday and recite 'Sunderkand' and 'Hanuman Chalisa' to mark the 'bhoomi pujan' for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
5) Oli, Prachanda talks remain inconclusive; both agree to meet again today
Nepal's Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and the ruling party's executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Monday held informal consultations for two hours to sort out their differences, but the talks remained inconclusive, party sources said.

6) Supreme Court will on Tuesday hear the contempt petition against lawyer Prashant Bhushan
Expressing opinion or bona fide anguish, however outspoken, disagreeable or unpalatable, cannot constitute contempt amounting to scandalising the court, noted civil rights lawyer Prashant Bhushan has said in a reply to a contempt notice issued to him by the Supreme Court.
7) Pak court orders govt to give 'another chance' to India to appoint lawyer for Kulbhushan Jadhav
The Islamabad High Court on Monday ordered the Pakistan government to give "another chance" to India to appoint a lawyer for death-row prisoner Kulbhushan Jadhav, Pakistani media reports said.
8) Sushant Singh Rajput's death case: Bihar legislators ask for CBI probe
Amid raging controversy over Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, the Bihar legislators across party line on Monday raised unanimous demand for CBI probe into the case. 11) Norway suspends cruise ship arrivals with 100+ people on board after virus outbreak
Norway stopped all cruise ships with more than 100 people on board from disembarking at its ports from Monday, after an outbreak of COVID-19 was reported late last week on a ship that had already disembarked at the port of Tromsoe.
