2) Rajasthan HC hearing to resume, Speaker's counsel says rebels' petition 'premature' The Rajasthan High Court will resume hearing the petition filed by Sachin Pilot and 18 other dissident Congress MLAs, challenging the disqualification notices issued to them by the assembly Speaker. An order is likely to be pronounced.
3) ICC postpones T20 World Cup, decks cleared for BCCI to hold IPL International Cricket Council (ICC), on Monday, announced that the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October-November 2020 has been postponed to 2022.
4) UK coronavirus vaccine prompts immune response in early test Scientists at Oxford University say their experimental coronavirus vaccine has been shown in an early trial to prompt a protective immune response in hundreds of people who got the shot.
5) White House to resume daily COVID-19 briefings The White House is reviving its public coronavirus task force briefings, and President Donald Trump will again take on a starring role. Trump says he'll lead a briefing at 5 pm Tuesday, his first since April 27. The coronavirus task force, led by Vice President Mike Pence, briefed the public daily in March and April with Trump participating and dominating many of the televised sessions. But the briefings disappeared in late April.
6) UK parliament report on Russian political 'meddling' out today A long-awaited report into alleged Russian interference in British politics is to be published on Tuesday. The 50-page report was compiled last year, but was held back because of the general election in December, despite being cleared for publication.
7) Govt warns against use of N-95 masks with valved respirators The Centre has written to all states and union territories warning against the use of N-95 masks with valved respirators by people, saying these do not prevent the virus from spreading out and are "detrimental" to the measures adopted for its containment.
8) RSS meet in Bhopal to discuss Ram temple, China: functionary A meeting of top office-bearers of the RSS will begin in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday wherein issues like Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Sino-India stand-off will be "naturally" discussed, a functionary said on Monday. Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat will address the informal meeting of top functionaries which takes place every three months, he said.
9) Telangana CM to finalise designs of new Secretariat buildings on July 21 Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will hold a meeting with officials and architects on Tuesday to finalise the design of the proposed Secretariat building complex to come up in Hyderabad. Rao felt that the new Secretariat should reflect the pride, prestige and grandeur of Telangana's culture and life, an official release said.
10) MHA yet to frame CAA rules, inform the parliament about the delay More than six months after the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) was passed by the Parliament, the Home Ministry is yet to frame rules or inform the Parliament about the delay. A parliamentary committee will write to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) seeking the status of the CAA rules. Without rules being notified, the CAA cannot be implemented or come into force.
