Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of coronavirus cases in India stands at 276110 with the death toll at 7748. After the WHO said that asymptomatic patients are only responsible for a small percentage of the infectious spread, experts have said that India should focus more on following symptomatic cases. 2. With over 50,000 cases, Mumbai crosses Wuhan count Mumbai on June 9 crossed 51,000 coronavirus cases – around 700 more than China's Wuhan, where the global pandemic first surfaced in December. 3. India-China Major General-level talks today The two sides have initiated a "symbolic disengagement" in a few patrolling points in the region and further plans for de-escalation may be discussed.  4. India's COVID-19 tally sees another record jump; Central teams deployed in high load areas As numbers continue to rise in India, high-level multi-disciplinary Central teams have been deployed by the Health Ministry in over 50 districts/municipal bodies with high case load and spread. 5. A.P. moves Supreme Court against High Court decision quashing ordinance curtailing tenure of State Election Commissioner The appeal filed by State government against the May 29 order of the Andhra Pradesh High Court is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on Wednesday by a Bench of Chief Justice S.A. Bobde and Justices A.S. Bopanna and Hrishikesh Roy. 6. Suspended J&K DSP Davinder Singh moves Delhi court seeking bail Davinder Singh was arrested while ferrying two Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway earlier this year. The court is scheduled to hear the matter on Wednesday. 7. Journalist Vinod Dua moves Delhi HC for quashing of FIR against him The petition in which Mr. Dua has also sought investigation into the malicious and malafide activity of the police and an order seeking payment of Rs. 1 crore under public law remedy for compensation for violating his fundamental rights, is listed for hearing on Wednesday before Justice Anup J Bhambhani  8. No exemption for Arnab Goswami, Bombay HC asks him to appear before police A Division Bench of Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and Riyaz Chagla, which was hearing his petition seeking quashing of the FIRs, asked him to appear before the police on Wednesday. 9. Prince Philip turns 99 Queen Elizabeth II's consort plans a quiet lunch at Windsor Castle, where the senior royals have been sheltering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
