Calendar 2019 was a volatile year for domestic equities. Sensex and Nifty hit record highs in the second half of the year even as the economy continued to slow, US and China indulged in tit-for-tat trade war and liquidity conditions tightened. Thanks to signs of a thaw in US-China trade tensions, Indian market rallied along with their global peers towards the end of the year.



Yet, the market rally was quite polarised and blue chips outpaced the broader market for second straight year.
