Tim Cook and President Trump to tour Apple facilities in Texas together, report says

Apple CEO Tim Cook and President Donald Trump are expected to make a trip to Texas together, Reuters reports today. The trip has yet to be officially announced, but the two would reportedly tour facilities in Texas where Apple products are made.

Bloomberg: 16-inch MacBook Pro coming as soon as tomorrow, starting at $2,400

A new report from Bloomberg this evening says that Apple will debut the new 16-inch MacBook Pro as soon as tomorrow. This follows 9to5Mac‘s reporting from yesterday, which indicated that Apple is currently holding private briefings with members of the press to showcase the new MacBook Pro.

Former HBO CEO in 'advanced talks' with Apple TV+ for an exclusive production deal

Apple TV app launches on Amazon Fire TV devices [update]

Update: The Apple TV app is now also available on the Amazon Fire TV Cube.

Apple today released the Apple TV app for Amazon TV devices, starting with the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and the older HD model. Support for Fire TV (3rd generation penchant design) and some other models is coming soon.

The TV app experience on Amazon’s platform mirrors the functionality of the Roku app, which launched last week. Users can watch their purchased iTunes movies and TV shows, access Apple TV Channel subscriptions and watch Apple TV+ content when the streaming service launches on November 1st.

Apple releases second developer beta of iOS 13.3, more

Apple today has released the second developer beta of iOS 13.3 today, following last week’s release of the first beta. tvOS 13.3 beta 2 is also now available, alongside watchOS 6.1.1.

'Facebook Pay' takes on Apple Pay with in-app purchases, Messenger transfers, more

Comment: For me, Apple Glasses would replace my Apple Watch, not my iPhone

A report yesterday suggested that anyone eager to get their hands on the long-rumored Apple Glasses might have to wait a while. An internal presentation reportedly said that we won’t see third-party devices until 2022, and Apple Glasses until 2023.

But what was perhaps most interesting was the claim that Apple believes its glasses product will replace the iPhone within a decade…

Feature Request: A 'camera in use' indicator in iOS for foreground apps

All Macs have a clear and unmistakable ‘camera in use’ indicator in the form of a green LED next to the camera. Indeed, on Macs released from 2008 onward, there is a hardware interlock between the camera and LED which makes it physically impossible for an app to switch on the camera without the light also coming on to alert you.

Yet there is no equivalent on iPhones or iPads – which, as we have seen only today, can be problematic…

iOS Facebook app 'secretly using camera' while scrolling feed; likely a bug

Web designer Joshua Maddux has found the iOS Facebook app activating the iPhone camera while scrolling his feed. He found the same issue on five separate devices, with others able to replicate. The same issue does not appear to be present in the Android app.

Disney+ app now available to download on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV

The Disney+ app is now available in the App Store: download it here. On Apple TV, search for ‘Disney+’ in the App Store app. (App Store servers are still propagating for some people at this time but others have confirmed they have been able to successfully download and install the app. If the direct link doesn’t work, try searching the App Store for ‘Disney+’ and scrolling down for the app listing.)

You can get the app now, sign up to Disney’s new streaming service, and start streaming its extensive back-catalog as well as start streaming The Mandalorian.
