1. PM to interact with gram panchayats, pani samitis on Jal Jeevan Mission today 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with gram panchayats, and village water and sanitation committees (VWSC) on the Jal Jeevan Mission on Saturday through video conferencing, his office said. Nationwide gram sabhas on the Jal Jeevan Mission will also take place during the day, the PMO said.

2. Foreign Secretary Shringla begins 4-day visit to Sri Lanka today 

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla will pay a four-day visit to Sri Lanka beginning Saturday to take stock of the overall ties and review the progress of certain ongoing bilateral projects. Announcing the visit, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Friday said Sri Lanka occupies a central place in India's 'Neighbourhood First' policy.

 

3. Rajnath Singh to unveil statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Lakshadweep today 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will unveil a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Kavaratti on Saturday on the occasion of his 152nd birth anniversary, official sources said. 

For the first time, the country's smallest Union Territory in the Arabian sea is going to get its first statue on Saturday.

4. Indian youngsters face stiff test at Worlds, expectations high from Anshu, Sarita 

The youngsters in the Indian wrestling contingent will seek to gain big-stage experience in the absence of star players even as Anshu Malik's performance will be followed keenly at the World Championships, starting Oslo on Saturday. 

5. Jamshedpur all set to host senior archery nationals 

Jamshedpur is all set to host the 40th senior archery nationals (recurve and compound) for both men and women from Saturday. The 10-day competition will be organised at the Tata Archery Academy as part of celebrations for the establishment's 25th anniversary. 

6. Indian women's football team seeks first win of year in friendly match against UAE 

The Indian women's football team would be looking for its first victory this year when it faces United Arab Emirates in an international friendly match in Dubai on Saturday.  

The 57-ranked Indians would be looking for their first win in 2021 against UAE, ranked 100th in the FIFA chart. 

7. Play-off berth confirmed, confident CSK take on struggling RR in search of top 2 finish 

A play-off berth already sealed, former champions Chennai Super Kings would look to ensure that the momentum remains intact when they take on a struggling Rajasthan Royals in their Indian Premier League match in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. 

8. Chance for DC to bounce back against struggling Mumbai Indians 

Delhi Capitals will look to bounce back after a blip in the last match, while a struggling Mumbai Indians unit will hope to hold on to their new-found momentum in the first of Saturday's IPL double headers in Sharjah.
