A dishwasher friendly humidifier beloved by a BuzzFeed Editor
Hi, I'm John!
I'm a SEO Strategy Manager on the BuzzFeed Shopping Team and the last time I wrote one of these newsletters I was a father of one. Well, that number has since doubled and I'm so very, very, very...exhausted, but still very excited about shopping. Photos: John Mihaly, unless otherwise noted However, I'm now more into buying toys and clothes for the kiddos rather than, well, toys and clothes for myself! So I had to dig a little deeper this time around for the things I'm really digging at the moment. We'll just chalk that up the lack of sleep! Forwarded This Newsletter?
Think of WANT THIS as your own personal shopper! Each week, we'll have a new BuzzFeed Shopping editor who'll take you behind-the-scenes of what they're loving and what's at the top of their wishlist. WHAT I'M LOVING NOW
You don't work on the BuzzFeed Shopping team and not learn a thing or two about skincare products. I needed something simple that I could easily build a daily routine around (because I'm getting older and I need to keep my mug in good shape). Along comes Harry's (purveyors of fine razors) with their new skincare collection that includes face toner, eye cream, night lotion, daily face lotion, and more. Been using these on the reg and feeling pretty good about it! Finding a humidifier that's easy to clean and doesn't accumulate any gunk and/or funk has often felt like a Sisyphean task to me. But this unassuming Canopy Humidifier is not only dishwasher safe but has a replaceable paper-based filter. Also, there's no visible mist or steam, just filtered and hydrated air! Plus it's got a diffuser for adding fancy fragrance oils (if you're into that). This sweatshop-free T-shirt business was started by Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill, Le Tigre) and 100% of its profits go to a charity that provides equal education opportunities by sending girls to school in Togo, West Africa. "This is not a Fugazi shirt" but it is a "Guy and Brendan" T-shirt capturing a now-somewhat-iconic moment from their band's 1988 show at a YWCA in Philadelphia. If you've never seen Prince's video for "Batdance" (from the soundtrack for Tim Burton's first Batman movie)! Somehow this completely bat-s#*! song made it to the top of the charts in the summer of 1989 where it was forever seared into my then ten-year-old brain. The video is no less a portrait of an artist at the height of his commercial excesses, which is why I was so stoked to score this limited edition print by artist Rich Pellegrino while perusing Gallery 1988.
