1. Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani resigns 

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday resigned from the post, his sudden announcement coming over a year before the state goes to the polls. 

Party sources said the issue of Rupani's successor will be discussed in the legislature party meeting likely to be held on Sunday.

 

2. Meenakshi Lekhi begins 6-day visit to Portugal and Spain from today 

Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi will pay a six-day visit to Portugal and Spain beginning Sunday to inject fresh momentum into the ties with the two European nations. 

3. Priyanka to hold meetings in Rae Bareli today 

For two days beginning Sunday Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will hold meetings with party workers, leaders and the people. 

4. IMD forecasts more rain in Mumbai, Konkan, Western Maharashtra 

"The low-pressure area developed in the Bay of Bengal is expected to get converted into depression and move north-north-west in next couple of days. It is expected to bring more intense showers over Western Maharashtra, Konkan including the Mumbai region starting from Sunday," the official said. 

5. Weatherman forecasts heavy rain in Odisha over next 2 days 

The meteorological department has advised fishermen to return to the coast after warning of heavy to very heavy rain in Odisha over the next two days as a low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal on Saturday and is likely turn into a depression. 

6. India's IPL stars off to Dubai after second successive negative RT-PCR reports 

"The players will be flying out at 11.30 PM (UK time) on Saturday and will arrive in Dubai early Sunday morning. Both, Virat and Siraj will undergo 6-day quarantine in Dubai before joining the team bio-secure bubble," RCB said in a release.
