1. Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat resigns, BJP legislators to meet to elect new leader 

The BJP has called a meeting of its legislature party in Uttarakhand on July 3 to elect a new leader with Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar being appointed as observer for the meeting.

2. Voting for zila panchayat chairman posts in 53 districts of UP  

The polling will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the votes will be counted after 3 p.m. 

3. Delhi police to organise public hearing camps every Saturday 

Public hearing camps will be held at police stations here every Saturday between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., officials said. The 'Jan Sunwai' camps will be organised by all Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) on Commissioner Balaji Shrivastava's directions to ensure speedy redressal of public grievances, they said. 

4. Kerala to publish names, details of those succumbing to COVID-19 

Health Minister Veena George said she has directed that the name, age and place of each COVID-19 patient, who succumbs to the infection, be published on the website of the Health Department from Saturday.

5. Light rain to bring temporary relief from heatwave in Delhi 

Cloudy skies and light rain are predicted for Saturday. The maximum temperature may drop by two degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department said.

6. Euro 2020 | Denmark takes on Czechs 

Denmark will face the Czech Republic on Saturday, exactly three weeks after midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the field in the team's opening game and had to be resuscitated with a defibrillator. 

7. Formula One | Hamilton leads Bottas in 2nd practice for Austrian GP 

Hamilton was .189 ahead of Bottas and .217 clear of Verstappen on Red Bull's home track. There is a third practice on Saturday before qualifying starts. 

8. Coronavirus in India | Numbers and developments   

Pregnant women in India are now eligible to get vaccinated against COVID-19 with the union Health Ministry giving the approval based on recommendations of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization. The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 46,476, taking the tally in the country to 3,05,01,171 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 4,01,068.
