1. Rajnath to visit Ladakh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, accompanied by the Army chief, will begin a three-day visit to Ladakh from Sunday to carry out a comprehensive review of India's operational readiness amid a stalemate with China on the next stage of disengagement at several friction points in eastern Ladakh, official sources said.

2. PM to virtually inaugurate Zen garden and Kaizen academy in Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate a Japanese Zen garden and Kaizen academy at the Ahmedabad Management Association on Sunday, an official said.

3. Injury for Hima, on verge of missing out on Tokyo Olympics

 

Hima Das on Saturday suffered a hamstring injury during the 100m heats at the ongoing National Inter-State Athletics Championships here, leaving her on the verge of missing out on the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. The severity of her injury could not be ascertained officially, but it is learnt that the Assam athlete is highly unlikely to run the 200m race scheduled on Sunday as well as the women's 4x100m relay final on June 29.

4. Archery World Cup Stage 3 in Paris

India are eyeing three more medals in the recurve team, individual and mixed pair event, slated for Sunday with world number three Deepika Kumari aiming for a hat-trick of gold medals.

5. Shafali set for ODI debut as India seek white-ball course correction

Teen sensation Shafali Verma is set to make her eagerly-anticipated ODI debut as the Indian women's team seeks white-ball course correction against a strong world champion English side in the first game of the three-match series, in Bristol on Sunday.

6. Coronavirus in India | Numbers and developments

 

India administered 61.9 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines until 9 p.m. on Saturday. Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest number of vaccinations (9.7 lakh) followed by Maharashtra (7.2 lakh) and Uttar Pradesh (5.2 lakh). The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 46,580, taking the tally in the country to 3,02,29,199 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 3,95,747.
