Must we also endure Crocs?
THE BIG STORY
The horrors of the deadly violence in Palestine and Israel
At least 30 people have been killed as fighting escalated further on Tuesday between Israel and Hamas, with the Israeli military launching airstrikes into Gaza as the militant group fired rockets into Israel.
Last week, Israeli police violently clamped down on protesters who were demonstrating against the eviction of Palestinians from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of east Jerusalem to make way for Israeli settlers.
Human rights groups such as Amnesty International condemned what it described as brutal repression of the protesters by the Israeli security forces.
Israeli security officials also stormed a mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, leaving hundreds wounded. Hamas militants then fired into Israel in response.
More than two dozen Palestinians, including women and children, were reported to have been killed in the airstrikes, which also led to the toppling of a 13-story building in Gaza. Rockets fired indiscriminately from Gaza claimed at least three lives in Israel, where the projectiles traveled as far as Tel Aviv.
It's the worst fighting between the Israelis and Palestinians since the 2014 Gaza war. We've collected photos that show the horrors unfolding. Prosecutors are seeking hate crime charges and the death penalty against the Atlanta spa shooting suspect
The 21-year-old suspect was indicted on murder and domestic terrorism charges in the Atlanta-area spa shootings, and court records show that prosecutors are planning to seek the death penalty and enhanced hate crime charges.
Six of the eight victims were Asian women. The shootings, which happened amid a surge in anti-Asian attacks across the country, set off a wave of anguish and fear in Asian communities in Georgia and beyond.
It's important to note: The man was indicted by a Fulton County grand jury in the killings of Soon Chung Park, 74; Hyun Jung Grant, 51; Sun Cha Kim, 69; and Yong Ae Yue, 63, at two spas in Atlanta in March.
A separate grand jury in Cherokee County has yet to decide on charges against the suspect in the shooting at Young's Asian Massage in Acworth, which is about 35 miles north of Atlanta. There, he allegedly killed Xiaojie Tan, 49, Delaina Ashley Yaun, 33, Daoyou Feng, 44, and Paul Andre Michels, 54. SNAPSHOTS

Why are Crocs a thing again?
It brings me no pleasure to report that crocs are, once again, A Thing. Yes, the ugly footwear has returned to prominence, and there's nothing you can do about it.
Everywhere you look, Crocs. Questlove wore golden Crocs to the Oscars. Nicki Minaj is sporting bedazzled Crocs, which is truly a wild thing to say out loud. Justin Bieber's special line of Crocs has sold out (lol), as has Post Malone's special line of Crocs (of course).
If this is confusing to you — and it ought to be, since you're a rational person — you are not alone. Scaachi Koul is livid that Crocs are having a comeback, since she thought we were done with that.

Esme, a 19-year-old classics student, recently posted a series of videos called "My Book Habits That Make Others Uncomfortable."
Some of those habits are shocking enough, to be honest. These include, but are not limited to:
👉 Using the pages as a coaster 🤨 👉 Ripping corners 🤔 👉 Intentionally cracking paperback spines 😣
