1. Restricted operating hours for revenue-earning institutions in Rajasthan

According to an order of the Finance Department, offices of commercial tax, excise duty, registrar and stamp department, transport and mines will remain open, but only till 4 p.m. and public dealing works will be allowed till 2 p.m. only. The directions will come into force from Sunday.

2. 20 isolation railway coaches set up in Bhopal

In a bid to address the bed crunch in hospitals amid rising COVID-19 cases, the West Central Railways has deployed 20 isolation coaches at Bhopal station, which will become operational from Sunday.

3. Indian and French navies to conduct 3-day wargame in Arabian Sea from today

The 19th edition of the Varuna exercise will showcase the increasing levels of synergy, coordination and interoperability between the two navies, officials said.

4. Oscars 2021 winners to be announced

The 93rd Academy Awards, to be handed out in Los Angeles on Sunday. The ceremony will broadcast live from multiple locations. Mank leads the nominations with 10, but experts have picked road movie Nomadland as the one to beat in several top categories including best picture.

5. Memorials on Turkey's Gallipoli to remember WWI deaths

On Sunday, Australians and New Zealanders will mark Anzac Day to remember their fallen soldiers. A dawn ceremony will be held in Turkey.

6. Archery World Cup Stage 1: Women's team storms into gold medal clash; India eyeing four medals

The women's team will take on seventh-seed Mexico in the gold medal clash on Sunday.

7. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments

The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 3,48,979, taking the tally in the country to 1,69,51,510, at the time of publishing this newsletter. The death toll from the disease stands at 1,91,242.
