| 1. West Bengal Elections | Fifth phase of polls Forty-five Assembly seats spread across six districts of West Bengal will go to polls in the fifth phase of polling on Saturday.  The bypoll was necessitated after Independent MLA Bhupendrasinh Khant was disqualified in May 2019 for submitting an invalid caste certificate. 3. Bypoll to Serchhip seat in Mizoram The bypoll to the Serchhip seat was necessitated after the disqualification of incumbent MLA Lalduhoma in November 2020 under the anti-defection law. 4. Rajasthan ready for bypolls on three Assembly seats The three Assembly seats for which the bypolls are being held are Sahara in Bhilwara district, Sujangarh in Churu district and Rajsamand.  5. Stage set for bypolls to one Lok Sabha seat, 2 Assembly segments in Karnataka By-elections to Belgaum Lok Sabha and Maski and Basavakalyan Assembly segments will begin at 7 a.m. on Saturday. 6. Both BJP, Congress hopeful of win in Salt bypoll The Salt Assembly constituency in Uttarakhand's Almora district is all set to go to poll on Saturday. 7. Amid tight security, Tirupati LS bypoll to be held Tirupati, a reserved constituency, is going to the bypoll due to the death of sitting YSRC member Balli Durga Prasad Rao in September 2020. 8. Maharashtra's Pandharpur bypoll a test for MVA allies, BJP The ruling NCP and the Opposition BJP are in a direct fight in this by-election, which was necessitated due to the death NCP legislator Bharat Bhalke owing to post-COVID complications in November 2020. 9. Tight security for Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly bypoll in Telangana The bypoll for the constituency was necessitated due to the death of TRS legislator Nomula Narsimhaiah in December 2020. 10. Customised Land Rover designed by Prince Philip to carry his coffin The much-talked-about feud between the brothers, Princes William and Harry, was thrown into focus again as the running order for their grandfather Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday confirmed that they would not be walking side by side in the procession.  To make matters worse, the nature of the Chennai track is not great news for the David Warner-led 'Orange Army' that failed to chase down a total which was less than 150. 12. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases in India recorded in the last 24 hours stands at 2,30,249, taking the tally in the country to 1,45,02,384, at the time of publishing this newsletter.
