1. EC notice to DMK leader A. Raja for derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu CM

The former Union Minister and DMK's "star campaigner" has been asked to respond to the notice by 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

2. Pawar may undergo surgery today around 3 p.m.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar was on Tuesday admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, a day ahead of the scheduled surgery after he experienced pain in his abdomen, a party leader said.

47 candidates file 70 nominations for bypolls to 2 Assembly and 1 lok Sabha seat in Karnataka; TRS, Congress, BJP candidates file nominations for Nagarjuna Sagar bypoll; PDA's consensus candidate files nomination for Noksen bypoll in Nagaland.

4. Bombay High Court to hear Param Bir Singh plea today

Mr. Singh had first approached the Supreme Court and later the Bombay High Court seeking a probe by the CBI against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
