India-China tenth round of military talks underway The tenth round of Corps Commander-level talks, to work out an agreement on the next phase of disengagement, began on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Moldo border point on the Chinese side of the Line of Actual Control and it was continuing till around 9:45 p.m. 2. PM Modi to address key BJP leaders The BJP held some key organisational meetings on the eve of the first physical meeting of its new set of national office-bearers likely to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sunday's meeting, which will also be attended by State unit presidents, assumes significance as it comes amid fierce farmer protests. 3. Researchers arrive to inspect artificial lake over Rishiganga The team led by USAC Director M.P.S. Bisht and consisting of four scientists each from the Geological Survey of India and Uttarakhand Space Application Centre will try to reach the artificial lake formed over Rishiganga after the recent avalanche on foot by Sunday and gauge how big a threat it poses to areas downstream. 4. Kejriwal to meet protesting farmers  Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will host protesting farmer leaders at a lunch at the Vidhan Sabha in the afternoon, government sources said. 5. 30 more CAPF companies to arrive in Bengal 12 CAPF companies arrived in the poll-bound State on Saturday. 125 companies of central forces will be deployed in West Bengal by February 25 for the Assembly elections. 6. First phase of Gujarat civic polls today; Amit Shah to vote in Ahmedabad, Rupani in Rajkot Elections to six municipal corporations in Gujarat will be held on Sunday, and results will be announced on February 23. 7. International Mother Language Day Ahead of the International Mother Language Day on Sunday, Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu wrote to all members of the Upper House urging them to promote and preserve Indian languages. 8. Bengaluru, Goa clash as ISL playoffs race heats up Their playoff chances hanging in balance, Bengaluru FC will take on formidable FC Goa in a must-win Indian Super League (ISL) game in Fatroda on Sunday. 9. Australian Open 2021 | Men's singles final  Novak Djokovic is aiming to win his ninth Australian Open championship and 18th Grand Slam title overall when he takes on Daniil Medvedev in the men’s final at Rod Laver Arena at 2 p.m. 10. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 1,09,90,596 at the time of publishing this newsletter.
