Here's where to invest your money in 2021, financial advisors say | | | WED, NOV 11, 2020 | | | As we head into 2021, some investors may try their luck by betting on stocks that could do well under a Biden presidency — those related to alternative energy or infrastructure. However, CNBC spoke with several financial advisors and they place less importance on who is in the White House than on a Covid-19 vaccine.
The Covid-19 trade will be more significant than the Biden trade, one advisor explained.
With that said, which sectors do they feel are poised for growth in 2021?
These advisors say to keep a close eye on those sectors that would benefit from a dose of pre-Covid-19 normalcy. Translation: Anything involving people being in close proximity to one another once again could do well once a vaccine is broadly distributed. They are looking at hotels, hospitality, airlines and cruise line industries, as well as sit-down restaurants, movie theaters, sporting events and concerts. These are sectors that have taken a beating during the pandemic.
The advisors say suppliers for those type of companies or those that otherwise serve them may benefit next year.
Commercial real estate, which also has suffered during the pandemic, could also have more upside potential in a post-vaccine economy, advisors say.
