Trump has coronavirus: What's next?
EDITOR'S NOTE
Hello,
President Trump's positive coronavirus test result has unsettled just about everything in government and markets. It threw an already-uncertain campaign into further chaos, with early voting already under way just over a month to go until Election Day.
It's not clear yet whether Trump is going to face a mild case of the potentially fatal and debilitating disease or something worse. At his age, 74, he is considered high risk for adverse effects. However, he will receive top-notch, round-the-clock medical care. As of now, Trump and first lady Melania Trump are doing fine, according to the White House physician.
Still, we have entered a fraught period of time when everyone will be anxious to hear about any changes in the president's health. His inner circle, including several top-ranking government officials, could be at risk as well, which only heightens concerns about how the government will run over the next few weeks and beyond.
Stay with CNBC.com as we continue to cover the biggest developments in this stunning, potentially historic story – and how it affects you, the markets, the election and the nation.
