India, US to ink landmark defence pact BECA during 2+2 talks In a reflection of their fast expanding strategic ties, India and the US will ink the landmark defence pact, BECA, on Tuesday that will provide for sharing of high-end military technology, geospatial maps and classified satellite data between their militaries. 2. Hathras case: SC to deliver verdict on pleas seeking court-monitored probe The Supreme Court is scheduled to pronounce its judgment on Tuesday on a batch of pleas which have sought a court-monitored probe into the Hathras case, in which a Dalit girl was allegedly brutally raped and died of injuries, and transfer of trial to Delhi. 3. Modi to inaugurate conference on vigilance and anti-corruption Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the national conference on vigilance and anti-corruption on Tuesday via video-conferencing. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said the theme of the conference is "vigilant India, prosperous India". 4. Modi to address beneficiaries of street vendors scheme in UP Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a virtual dialogue with the beneficiaries of the 'PM Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi Scheme (SVANidhi Scheme)' from UP on Tuesday. Mr. Modi will address them through video conferencing.
5. Army commanders to discuss Ladakh standoff With the standoff continuing along the disputed boundary in Eastern Ladakh, the situation on the ground in Ladakh as well as the Army’s winter preparations will be reviewed at the highest level at the Army commanders conference, chaired by Army Chief Gen. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Bipin Rawat as well as the Navy and Air Force Chiefs are scheduled to address the conference on Tuesday. 6. London court rejects Nirav Modi’s bail application for seventh time A London court rejected the bail application filed by fugitive diamantaire Nirav Modi, the seventh such rejection by courts of the United Kingdom, officials said. 7. Mali holds rare terror trial over 2015 Bamako attacks A Malian court on Tuesday will launch proceedings against alleged Islamists who killed more than two dozen people in 2015 in attacks targeting foreigners. The trial is a rare event in Africa's vast and conflict-ridden Sahel region, where borders are porous and state control weak in the face of a widening jihadist revolt. 8. Three-way Ethiopia dam talks to resume after Trump warning Sudan said it will hold three-way talks Tuesday with Egypt and Ethiopia on a controversial Nile dam project that US President Donald Trump has warned could spark military action. Their foreign and irrigation ministers are to hold a videoconference brokered by the African Union (AU), the Sudanese irrigation ministry said, after a three-month suspension of dialogue between the neighbouring states on the Ethiopian construction.
9. Gadkari to lay foundation stone of ₹2,752-cr highway projects in Tripura on Tuesday Union Minister Nitin Gadkari will on Tuesday lay the foundation stones of nine highway projects in Tripura to be built at over ₹2,752 crore, the government said on Monday. The projects will enhance socio-economic conditions of the locality, it said. 10. Kejriwal to inaugurate 15-TPD waste-to-energy plant at Ghazipur poultry market Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will on Tuesday inaugurate a waste-to-energy plant at the Ghazipur fish and poultry market, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said. The plant will be able to process 15 tonnes of waste per day and generate 1,500 units of power a day, he said. 11. Slovenia tightens virus controls The Slovenian government is tightening coronavirus lockdown measures from Tuesday after announcing new border restrictions amid a surge in infections. 12. Indian Premier League 2020 | Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals in Dubai Delhi Capitals would look to complete the unfinished business and seal their place in the playoffs when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in a crucial Indian Premier League match in Dubai on Tuesday.
