President Donald Trump wants to stoke concerns about public safety in the final two months of his reelection bid. Joe Biden aims to turn the president's strategy on its head.
Trump on Tuesday heads to Kenosha, Wisc., a community roiled after police shot Black man Jacob Blake in the back seven times. Trump has called out destruction of property in the electoral swing state while devoting little attention to any possible solutions to stop police violence that disproportionately harms Black Americans.
Facing Trump's accusations that he condones violence, Biden gave his rebuke on Monday. He questioned whether Americans really feel safer under Trump's watch, as his administration struggles to contain a once-in-generation pandemic or soothe Americans calling out systemic racism in the United States.
