Americans will likely send an unprecedented number of mail-in ballots between now and Nov. 3 as the coronavirus pandemic changes the way we vote.    The outbreak has also created more opportunities than ever to spread misinformation about voting. North Carolina's board of elections had to remind residents that it is illegal to vote twice after President Donald Trump urged them to do so.    As voting begins, CNBC's Tucker Higgins and Nate Rattner took a look at when states around the country start casting ballots.   Here are other stories the CNBC Politics team has been covering: Vice President Mike Pence told CNBC that the Trump administration and White House have an agreement to fund the government past this month without including coronavirus relief measures. He said talks on an elusive fifth stimulus package continue. Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden traveled to Wisconsin and met with the family of Jacob Blake, the Black man shot seven times in the back by Kenosha police. Biden also reported raising a record $364.5 million in August. The Biden campaign is seizing on a report that Trump called dead American soldiers "suckers" and "losers." Multiple administration officials have also denied the details.
