1. Coronavirus | Latest numbers and developments The number of positive coronavirus cases reported from India now stands at 26,47,716 at the time of publishing this newsletter. The toll from the disease stands at 51,041.
2. High-level meeting between India and Nepal Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra and Nepal Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi are likely to discuss infrastructure development projects. This will be the first meeting between India and Nepal, ever since Kathmandu released a controversial map that claims three Indian territories.
3. Nitin Gadkari to lay foundation stone of 13 highway projects today  Union Minister Nitin Gadkari along with Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh will lay the foundation stone of 13 National Highway projects and inaugurate a road safety project worth ₹3,000 crore for Manipur via video conferencing at 11.30 a.m.
4. Bihar pre-poll churn | Shyam Rajak sacked as Minister, expelled from JD(U) Ahead of the Assembly elections, Shyam Rajak, considered to be the ruling JD(U)’s Dalit face, is likely to return to the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
5. Maharashtra rains | IMD issues red alert for Pune, Satara districts  The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert of extremely heavy showers for two districts in Maharashtra. The IMD in its daily weather report, has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and very heavy to extremely heavy rains on Monday.
6. Chetan Chauhan funeral on Monday Former cricketer Chetan Chauhan died on Sunday due to COVID-19 related complications after being put on life support for nearly 36 hours.
7. Pranab Mukherjee continues to be on ventilator support: hospital There is no change in the health condition of former President Pranab Mukherjee and his vital parameters are stable, the Army’s Research and Referral (R&R) Hospital said on Sunday.
8. SPB’s health: Will definitely heal, recover and get back to us, says S.P. Charan  Singer and producer S.P. Charan said that his father veteran singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam who is on life support after testing positive for COVID-19 is on the road towards getting better.
9. IB team mandated by PM to fast track Naga peace process, says NSCN(IM) The NSCN-IM said after Naga interlocutor R.N Ravi created an imbroglio in the peace talk process, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mandated a team of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials to fast track the communication and clear the pending issues.
10. PMO denies RTI plea seeking info on PM-CARES The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has denied a Right to Information request related to the PM-CARES Fund on the grounds that providing it would “disproportionately divert the resources of the office.”
11. Coronavirus | New Zealand PM delays election after virus return  Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Monday delayed New Zealand's looming election by four weeks to October 17 after a renewed coronavirus outbreak hampered campaigning.
