BJP's two-day meet on Bihar polls from today BJP President J.P. Nadda and a host of senior party leaders will take part in a two-day virtual meeting starting Saturday to draw strategy for Bihar Assembly polls due in October-November, its State chief Sanjay Jaiswal said on Friday. 5. Farooq Abdullah to hold meeting of third batch of NC leaders on Saturday Speaking his mind: National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah addressing a press conference on Thursday. The NC said eight other party leaders — Bashir Veeri, Irfan Shah, Aga Mehmood, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, Saifudin Shutru, Abdul Majid Larmi, GN Adgami and Hilal Lone — who have been under incarceration since August 2019 have been called by the party chief at his residence on Saturday. 6. Heavy rainfall alert for Mumbai, Konkan The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an `orange' alert for Mumbai, Thane and rest of the Konkan region of Maharashtra for Saturday, forecasting heavy rainfall. 7. Rajasthan may receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in next 24 hours: MeT dept Heavy to very heavy rainfall may also occur at few places in Ajmer, Banswra, Baran, Bundi, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Dungapur, Jhalawar, Kota, Rajsamand, Sawaimadhopur, Tonk, Sirohi and Udaipur districts on Saturday, it said. 8. Rains lash parts of M.P., IMD issues red alert for 6 districts The Met office issued a red alert of extremely heavy rainfall in six districts of Madhya Pradesh, even as downpour continued in several parts of the State on Friday. 9. Over 130 roads shut for traffic as rains lash parts of Gujarat Commuters wade through a waterlogged street during heavy rains, in Surat on Friday, August 21, 2020. With the formation of a low-pressure area, some parts of the State are likely to get heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday and Sunday, the India Meteorological Department said. 9. Offices and shops in Haryana to remain closed on weekends due to spike in COVID cases: Minister Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday said all offices and shops, except those providing essential services, will remain closed on every Saturday and Sunday in the wake of increase in COVID-19 cases in the State.
