The toll from the disease stands at 25,619. India on Thursday crossed the grim milestone of reporting over 1 million coronavirus cases.
2) Modi to address High-Level Segment of U.N. ECOSOC Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Friday deliver a virtual keynote address at this year's High-Level Segment of the UN Economic and Social Council session of the United Nations.
3) Rajasthan political crisis | Pilot camp plea to be heard before division bench of Rajasthan High Court at 1 p.m.  Sachin Pilot Sachin Pilot and 18 other dissident leaders on Thursday moved the court, challenging the notices from the Rajasthan Speaker over a Congress move to disqualify them from the State Assembly.
4) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh scheduled to visit Ladakh today China and India are committed to "complete disengagement" of troops, and the process is "intricate" that requires "constant verification", the Indian Army said Thursday after the fourth round of marathon military talks for further de-escalation of tension in eastern Ladakh.
5) 14-day total lockdown in Odisha's worst-hit four districts, Rourkela city  A woman and her son check their body temperature in Odisha Ganjam, Khurda, Cuttack and Jajpur district and Rourkela city will be locked down from 9 pm on Friday to July 31 amid a rapid spurt in COVID-19 cases in the State.
6) Delhi BJP to launch campaign against 'huge' power bills The Delhi BJP will on Friday launch a campaign against "huge" power bills being issued to consumers in the city and the AAP government's alleged inaction on its demand to withdraw fixed charges component in electricity invoices.

8) 121 Malaysian Tabligi Jamaatis to return to their country today Only a juvenile will be left behind in India as the Delhi High Court on Thursday transferred the case of the minor, who was booked for attending Tablighi Jamaat congregation during COVID-19 allegedly in violation of visa norms, from one Juvenile Justice Board to another due to lack of quorum.

Sharma Oli refusing to resign or give up his position as chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, talks aimed to strike a new power-sharing deal between him and former premier Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' failed to make any headway on Thursday on the eve of a crucial meeting of the party.
